Your first ten choices
Install the command line, check the deployment it talks to, and vote in a public arena.
Install and check the deployment#
The command line is plain ESM with no build step and no dependency outside Node 22. A deployment is the web app and API the command line talks to; PREFERENCES_URL names it and is required, and a command run without it exits 2.
doctor exits 0 when the deployment is up and its database answers, 69 when the app is up but not ready, and 1 when it cannot be reached. Its output names the URL, whether this shell holds an operator or account token, and the answers of the health and readiness routes.
npm install -g github:wisent-ai/preferencespreferences doctorVote#
Your first pair creates an anonymous voter: a cookie called pref_voter holding an opaque id and nothing else. The command line stores it in ~/.preferences/cookies.json, the browser keeps it for 400 days, and either way the profile keeps growing across runs. Signing in with Google, GitHub, Apple or an email code binds the choices to a Wisent account instead.
- Two items of the category appear, marked l and r.
- Answer l or r for the one you prefer, t for a tie, s to skip.
- The reveal names the generator behind each side, and the running count of your choices in the category follows.
- The next pair arrives until every pair of the category has been served to you.
